I worked at The Lycée Français de San Francisco full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

All staff is like a big family. There are three campuses and each feels like a separate entity. Location in the city near Haight and Ashbury is hard to beat.

    Cons

Difficult to advance due to very small size of staff. The Sunset location is difficult to get to. Some management staff can be very difficult to deal with, but since the Head Principal is rotated every three years, this becomes more bearable.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

    Pros

Pay, schedule is quite good. Good work atmos.

    Cons

Management is on a revolving door; therefore, you deal with lots of different personalities/idiosynchrasies.

    Advice to Management

I think the management at Lycee Francais does an excellent job with all they have on their plate.

    Pros

The teachers are generally very motivated and professional. The students are great, and the parents are supportive of the faculty. Salary is clearly defined by a scale based on experience and degree type.

    Cons

The administration is a mess. Hiring and promotions are incomprehensible. The administration is unable to communicate and does not always value the talent and staff they have. Because of this problem, they run up against PR nightmares, a lack of direction/vision for the school as well as cultural issues which is shocking for a bilingual school in the San Francisco Area. The French and English programs are not integrated.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your parents and teachers. You could be a stellar International School if you would really listen and communicate rather than do damage control or short term strategies.

    Pros

    Advice to Management
