Pros
You really get to know your students well and what motivates and challenges them. Very strong bonds within staff members who are providing direct support to students. Teachers and student support staff work well to maximize support of students.
Cons
Administration is really inadequate and top heavy. Many manager but no true leaders. Drastically under resourced to meet the vision of the school. Administrators lack competence in training and support of new staff. Recruitment of students is a big challenge for the school system. Most decisions affecting students are made solely by people not connected to the everyday work with kids, those who are unaware of how decisions actually affect the kids. No concern for feedback from people who understand the outcomes. Overall, the expectations are extremely unreasonable and unattainable.

Pros
an amazing school with a strong vision. I started teaching here and was really allowed to grow and flourish I only left because of relocation. I still remain close to staff and admin and would return if I relocated back.
Cons
no real cons here this is a great place, you have to be willing to put in time the school is a place where real work happens but they support a strong work/life balance

Pros
Passion, vision, heart. They want to help kids - there is no doubt.
Cons
Pay is super low and work expectations are overly high. You will have no life outside of work and are expected to jump at the drop of a ball... show up whenever asked, receive phone calls at 3 am. Student demands are low as well as accountability.
