I worked at The Millard Group (Illinois) part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The salary is over the minimum wage, and there's a good reason for that. You have to work hard, but the reward (paycheck) is great! If you are looking for a job, I would recommend this over a restaurant/grocery store, but you have to be willing to do the work. A nice way to loose weight as well haha!

    Cons

As with any job, the boss you get will determine if you enjoy your job, or if you hate it.

I worked at The Millard Group (Illinois) full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It's only good to work at this place in the metal division. None of the other divisions pay good. If your a kiss butt then the boss will love you. A raise every year only in metal, good uniforms. Great health insurance for Metal

    Cons

Management does not care about you, just as long as the job gets done. They used to care about their employees. I was there for 16 years and they couldn't hold my job for a family emergency. So they will let you go in a heart beat. They switch your shift like the weather. And almost every year they only work 4 days a week, because of management.

    Advice to Management

If you are gonna send out a crew to do a maintenance job on a customer's building. You should at least make sure that the work is getting done. Even better don't charge 2001 Butterfield Rd. for maintenance the crew don't do because AL said it looks good leave it. Hire someone who can raise a company up not shut it down. Open your eyes, there used to be at least 20 employees in metal and look now.

I worked at The Millard Group (Illinois) full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It started as a very promising , exciting opportunity.

    Cons

No concern for employees, no time spent training new managers, terminations without just cause, under staffing, bad management overall. Management is very resistant to change, very unilateral which makes it difficult to work with.

    Advice to Management

I have never met Mr. Craig Millard or Mr. Paul Millard. Thank you for the opportunity. It's been a lesson.

I have been working at The Millard Group (Illinois) part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Get assigned a whole building to yourself mostly.
Pay is decent, and you get mandatory raises each year.
You work independently for most of the year.
Conditioning and spare room for yourself.

    Cons

Almost no upward advancement unless you are friends with the higher ups.
No vacation days unless you work here full time.
The management can be awful because they never change it up.

I worked at The Millard Group (Illinois) full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of opportunity, but you will net be allowed to go there.

    Cons

In a nutshell, the owner is an entitled trust fund, C minus student, who has taken his father's successful business and driven it into the ground. He has no sense of how business works and how to do right by his customers. He has cut back to the point of where he is cutting off his legs, over and over again. There is no sales organization and the owner never meets with customers. If he gets anyone good in his organization that can make a positive impact, he micro-manages them into the ground, until they leave or he fires them for not performing.

    Advice to Management

Get a sales organization and let them do what they do. Get out of your office and meet with clients.
Since you have proved your cannot do this, sell your business. It's not worth as much as you think it is. Anymore.

    Advice to Management

Annual evaluations and raises should be done for the front line employees!
