Keep striving to make this the best place to work in the Reno/ Sparks area in Supply Chain / Distribution.

    Close to home. Bonus's

    Cons

Horrible management. Treat employees horrible. Set them up to fail.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of long term managers, upper and level management. They do not show respect to their employees. They get rid of people they don't like and not based on job performance. Stressful atmosphere

I have been working at The Nature's Bounty Co. full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Paychecks still clear. Company has not declared bankruptcy.

    Cons

NBTY was doing well for many years. Look at the company growth on Google.
Until Carlyle bought NBTY it was growing, acquiring companies, merging and doing well.

    Then...

Profit sharing and bonuses got smaller and were "missed" (while $ billions went to Carlyle). Two divisions have been sold. This is a classic break apart and sell the pieces strategy, which is destroying the company and hurting employees, but who cares about that?

Now the extremely small and overworked IT department is being almost completely outsourced to consultants in the Philippines. This is a disaster, not just for long term employees but for the company too. Service WILL decline a lot. The personal service that is delivered will be gone.

    Advice to Management

Look at the CIO running IT. All is not as he says...

    Pros

Nothing!! No doubt that HR and upper management are putting phony reviews on all review sites.

    Cons

It's not what you know it's who you know and how long you can give a false impression of who you really are before someone sells you out to get ahead!!

    Advice to Management

Look closely in the mirror and see what you have really become deep down inside.... You won't like what you see if you look close enough and are true to yourself. Greed will never get you what you want??

    Pros

Starting here definitely gave me what I needed to learn about what its like working in marketing or communications. Lots of talented people, and a traditional work environment. Not very stressful.

    Cons

A lot less fast-paced than any NYC-based company or agency, so if you're moving forward afterwards it can be hard to adapt to.

I have been working at The Nature's Bounty Co. full-time

    Pros

SOME of the people and hours

    Cons

Management doesnt care about the growth of its associates or opinions doesnt want to listen to the little people only cares about the favorite ones even if they are completely wrong. Management overall is the worst I have ever seen, don't even care that people are leaving left and right, even if it was there top players would say goodbye without a care. PAY IS HORRIBLE isn't staying competitive with the market. There is constant negativity even higher up makes it a very uncomfortable place to work. OVERALL NATURES BOUNTY DOESNT CARE ABOUT THERE PEOPLE ONLY THEMSELVES. You CANT give an opinion or truthful thought without repercussions. Sad part is they will dismiss this review and have someone else write a fake review on how great it is thats a LIE.

    Advice to Management

GET RID OF YOUR MANAGEMENT STAFF, ONLY 1 or 2 ARE GOOD THE REST ONLY CARE ABOUT THEMSELVES AND MAKING OTHER MISERABLE AND NOT THE ONES YOU THINK. EVALUATE YOUR PAY, MCDONALD EMPLOYEES MAKE MORE THAN WE DO.
