They give a generous merchandise discount and you learn a lot about the equipment and sports.
Cons
The pay is horrible (barely above minimum wage).

I would never recommend this job to anyone unless you are in need of a last resort.

50% discount on TNF product and various discounts for other companies under VF + 401k benefits. I guess the monthly bonus is a pro (only if it's the cash bonus and not a lousy gift card for the North Face). Most of the associates are nice
Cons
No commission here, so you are stuck with your basic rate pay which is very discouraging when it comes to making sales. The company has a "sales club" program for the sales made, but they short you on extra pay and provide you only with a gift card "bonus" for The North Face; not beneficial in any way, only to the company. For Example: Lvl 1. $40,000 in sales=$25 TNF Gift Card.. just wow. The store manager hires too many people when they already have a big team at the store so this ruins payroll for everyone by cutting each team member's hours and only letting Full-Timers keep their hours. Most of the people that work there dislike the work environment because of management. Many people have left because of the managers not doing what they should be doing; all they really do is hide in their office and not help the team on the floor. The current managers at Store 60 are all creeps too and one of them shouldn't even be working there. I'm surprised one of the managers didn't lose his job position for what he did to the girl that used to work there last year; instead of getting fired, he received a paid 2-week leave. Don't work here unless you hate yourself.

Good benefits, many company asks

Great benefits and discounts. Close with coworkers and associates
Cons
Company has been asking a lot of the store lately, seemingly trying to micromanage an already successful business. Many small things are trying to be controlled at the corporate level, which sometimes helps and other times hurts the business.
