    Pros

There were pockets of good in this organization, but management never recognized or rewarded them. Most of the students were great, as were most of the Visiting Scholars, older Faculty & Staff.

    Cons

Upper management was full of uber narcissists who never gave credit or praise, constantly pressured you for free O/T, and expected you to be perpetually on-call. Employees are routinely degraded and treated as second-class citizens and whipping boys. Getting screamed at was a weekly function for my job, and was the norm for everyone, except their favorite few.

Unless you're one of their favorites, you will have a hard time working there.

    Advice to Management

Get a new Director, fire the incompetant office assistants & hold those who made this such a hostile place accountable for their actions.

I worked at The Ohio State University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Ohio State has great benefits and staff members can sign up for up to 10 credit hours each semester (free). There are a lot a great little resources on OSU's campus-- there's a campus pharmacy, an incentive program for doing your yearly health screening, a discounted weight watchers program-- lots of little nuggets of benefits.

    Cons

I would argue that most non-executive staff members are severely underpaid at Ohio State; perhaps because of the high number of people seeking to work at OSU (supply & demand, right?). Further, staff members do not seem really interested in serving students. They are there for the benefits and football tickets. This was my perception, at least. Oh, parking permit prices are insane and get worse every year.

    Advice to Management

Stop forcing people to go to staff lunches (on their own dime) and to play secret santa each year. It's expensive!

    Pros

Most Co-workers were easy to get along with, Hours aver very regular. The staff is very experienced.

    Cons

Department manager and supervisor are clueless and have no people skills at all. Do not depend on any of the current employees for any type of training. You will be expected to learn by trial and error, your job responsibilities will never be clearly spelled for you. If you take any initiative to do a task on your own, you will be criticized, whether you are right or wrong in your thinking. Management there seems to be Bi-Polar and undecided about everything

    Pros

laid back work environment, the salary starts around 9 dollars an hour. All the student workers are friendly and willing to help you

    Cons

    Poor management.
It takes up to 6 months to get any sort of raise, there is no on the job training and throw you into the workforce without telling you their expectations

    Pros

free education if you are pure osu. osup doesn't offer this and they won't convert positions, yet don't pay bonuses.

    Cons

    no room for advancement there

    Advice to Management

all apn should work 10-12 shift. otherwise they are abused with the 8-5 and end up working 12 hours 5 days a week
