I worked at The Ohio State University part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Relatively easy work, easy to get promoted, flexible schedules, fair absence policy.

    Cons

Low pay, raises are rare and when they do happen they will lower it from the maximum amount for no good reason and just say you need to improve your customer service skills.

I have been working at The Ohio State University part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits, environment, opportunities. Healthcare, opers retirement opportunities. Positions available in a variety of departments, tuition assistance possible. Work-life balance is strong.

    Cons

Parking is horrendous, but this is operated through a separate company, not OSU. Events/traffic on campus complicate this even further. Promotions possible but some departments it is very political.

I have been working at The Ohio State University (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great health benefits and perks (RPAC, COTA, etc.) forG RAs and GTAs, although you do technically pay for them through your student fees.

    Cons

Work-life balance is hard to maintain. Pay is laughable.

    Advice to Management

Compensate GTAs for their work and propose a fair market value. Don't make comparisons between departments on campus. Instead, pay GTAs and GRAs what they would be making using their skills off-campus.

    Pros

Surrounded with young students, making yourself feeling that you are young. Time is flexible so that you don't have to stick to the restrict schedule.

    Cons

Salary is not competitive. Especially if you have a family to support. But meanwhile you may enjoy a lot of services in campus, which is more expensive outside campus.
