I have been working at The Ohio State University full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Good benefits. Flexibility with schedule.

    Cons

Low pay.No room for advancement in scheduling. The benefits become more expensive over the years. OPERS takes a significant amount of your pay, which is fine if you're just beginning your career. Non state positions are better for a person in their mid 40's or older if you've already been under an employer who deducts social security. People with a college are treated with more respect and have room for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Increase pay for scheduling representatives. Especially representative who have several years of experience.

I worked at The Ohio State University part-time

    Pros

Significant resources available for employee development.
It felt good to be a part of a successful, nationally-respected organization.

    Cons

It's a large organization, so the cons are related to its size. The resources are significant but there are a ton of departments and sometimes it's difficult to get things done quickly and efficiently.

    Pros

The dynamic and collaborative work environment challenges employees to develop key skills and form lasting relationships with leaders in the field of pharmacy and health care.

    Cons

Living amongst a campus of 40,000+ students can be overwhelming if used to a smaller community or environment. Adjusting to a larger city was a bit of a challenge for someone from a rural farming community.

I have been working at The Ohio State University part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I can only say from my experience in the College of Engineering, but the GRA positions are fantastic and expose you to a lot of unique and challenging opportunities while fulfilling your research requirements. Having all tuition and fees paid for is a huge benefit (including optional student health insurance) and the stipend is competitive with other major research universities. I was even reimbursed for mileage since my position was stationed 50 miles from campus and I had to commute there 2-3 times a week.

    Cons

Parking on campus can be a bit of a challenge during peak hours. CampusParc is ruthless when it comes to parking enforcement, so make sure you follow their rules.
