    The benefits are amazing if you take advantage of them. Great being around students and good opportunities to mentor them. Possible to land a meaningful position and make an impact.

    Cons

    The cultural climate of the campus community comes from the president, which could be bad depending on the president appointed. Middle managers can be fearful to innovate. Many middle managers enjoy the status quo or prefer to be out of sight, out of mind.

    Recruit and retain top talent or recruit talent with great potential. Don't fear innovation.

    I have been working at The Ohio State University full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    You will learn a lot as a Field Station Assistant. If you love teaching kids grades 5th-12th about science then this is the job for you! We teach classes on a boat, outside, and in the classroom. Various classes are herpetology, fish dissection, climate change, invertebrates, etc. You get to live on an island which is an awesome experience. You learn how to drive many different types of boats, how to trawl, go wetland sampling, and take care of different herps.
    Theres so many opportunities from this job.

    You get plenty of hours, free meals, and free rent!!!!

    You get 24 hour access to Put In Bay, you become a local here.

    You get to be outside.

    Management is very nice and friendly. They have your back.

    Cons

    Golf carts....
    tourists take over your island.
    long hours,
    teach for half the season the rest is maintenance work like pulling weeds, racking rocks, painting, recycling off the island.
