I worked at The Parking Spot full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    -Room for advancement
    -Relocation opportunities
-The company truly cares about their employees and their guests
-Not stuck inside of a cubicle all day
-Fair compensation for management and tipped positions
-Generous paid vacation time once you've been there for a year
-The corporate office and reginal Managers have a great attitudes towards the field employees. Don't take things to seriously. They trust you to run the place as if you owned it to an extent and most importantly they are there for you when you need them any day any time. Personal issues or work related.

    Cons

-On call 24/7/365. Sometimes even on vacation you can't just turn your phone off. However it goes both ways because at times you need help from someone on vacation and they will respond to you.
-Wish they could pay the non tipped positions more. (Dispatchers and Cashiers)
-Too many big changes in the company in a very short period of time
-Constantly trying to please the investor/parent company and use that as justification for cutting jobs and costs that are needed. Stick to your guns and go to bat a little harder for the company and all of its employees.
-Giant IT team that seems a bit disorganized, biting off more than they can chew.

I worked at The Parking Spot full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very family oriented. You could pop in and have a conversation with the regional manager, VP - Sales or someone from corporate with no problem. Lots of small incentives and bonuses offered to employees (accident free, holiday bonus, customer scores, etc...). Aside from peak times of the year, it was generally no problem to request time off, provided the employee had the vacation or PDO available. Free parking when you travel, very competitive pay for the AA role. TPS truly does care about their guests travel experience and will take care of them, always.

    Cons

The Supervisor level is somewhat underpaid and if there was an opening for one, a candidate with a 4 year degree would take precedence over one who has genuine experience. GM's (at least at my location) were not involved enough with the new hire process. They completed the interview and then Admin took over from there. Sometimes it would be a week before the GM checked in with them. This left many new hires to only seek out their shifts supervisor or Asst. Manager for everything.

    Advice to Management

GM's have a perfect schedule at TPS! But.... it does create some issues with the 2nd and 3rd shifts. Employees start referring to everything as "that's not how it is done on 2nd shift..." GM's should truly work a 2nd or 3rd shift a few times a month in order to check in with other employees and really solidify the team atmosphere. This would reduce the need for people to want to constantly pick up the phone and call HR at every little thing.

    Pros

Great employees! I was always busy. Bonuses given every year. Great benefits.

    Cons

The Assistant Manager is a dead end position for women. Most of the General Managers are men. Area and Regional managers all have their own rules and dont follow the employee handbook. There are general manager that dont have college degrees but its a requirement for assistant managers.

    Advice to Management

GMs And AMs are supposed to be a team. Upper management should not gossip with hourly supervisors and manage in a spiteful way or use the phrase its my way my way only.

    Cons

The yearly raises were very small.

I worked at The Parking Spot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Consistent pay, benefits, tips if you're a driver, minimal bonuses, and standard raises

    Cons

Customers can lie about you and get you written up or fired, management doesn't care about anyone but their favorites, schedule can change immediately, backstabbing is prevalent, and dispatchers play favorites which interferes with tips

    Advice to Management

Do not promote people because they have had relations with their superiors. Do not hire management staff that are stupid just because they can smile. Stop being about race when an applicant is better qualified for a management position. Stop lying to people when you set them up to fire them with no paper trail.
