I have been working at The Rockport Company full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits and good salary for a lower volume store. The company creates a sense of family, even the CEO goes around to visit stores. Your voice is heard and taken into account. They believe the people in the field know best.

    Cons

Retail is becoming more challenging and the pressure to make sales and numbers remain. With new systems inventory flow hasn't gone as smoothly as one would hope creatiung additional challenges. Low payroll can make scheduling difficult.

    Advice to Management

In-store promos/pricing should always be better than online; brick and mortar are losing to online stores as it is.

    Pros

Had access to the state of the art Reebok facilities in Canton, MA- with great fitness center and programs, good cafeteria, and nice setting

    Cons

there was much Flux in the leadership and direction during my tenure and it was a very toxic work environment

    Advice to Management

Understand what the core values and market opportunity is for the Brand and stay consistent with the message, straying and trying to chase fashion will not work

I worked at The Rockport Company full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Located at the Reebok World HQ was one of the minimal pros, but as of July 2015 only Crossfit One allows access for Rockport employees. Yes, these Rockport job openings are posted under the "Adidas Group" yet completely separate from the organization both figuratively and literally

    Cons

Below industry standard salary (this is also in regards to annual bonuses), unmotivated and irritable management team, growth and improvement within one's career path is both discouraged and limiting, the new "office" located at the former Instron warehouse is infested with mice and various insects

    Advice to Management

Acknowledge why everyone is dropping like flies, improve upon that reasoning to appreciate those who remain loyal to The Rockport Group

I worked at The Rockport Company full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a fun place to work if you like selling shoes. It's a great job to take if you are going to school and need some spending money.

    Cons

Management is poorly (read: not) trained and there is a lot of turnover because of it. The store is very slow and it can really get to you. Pay isn't great and there is a lot of miscommunication between management and upper management. It took me six weeks for them to stop charging me for healthcare that I already have. No one in upper management takes any responsibility and that trickles down to the sales associates.

They also will pull from adidas applicants and send you to Rockport.

    Advice to Management

Get your act together and at least pretend you care. Getting emails saying stuff like "Hey guys lets keep those sales up YAY!" when you (the sales associate) don't get bonuses or anything and the people sending the emails do is grating.
