I worked at The Roosevelt Hotel full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Location, complimentary meals, benefits, and much to do, it's an adult playground. I can't say much of anything else was a pro but I am forced to write 20 words

    Cons

constant management droughts, poor leadership, going nowhere, the building is historical and is the only reason it's there today. Filled with cockroaches

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people, train then, pay them well

I have been working at The Roosevelt Hotel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Beautiful property, amazing history, extraordinary spa, fabulous guests.

    Cons

Horrible management, deplorable work/life balance, disastrous training methods, everyone commiserates over misery, not a positive environment, very much in need of a total revamp from staff to rooms. One of the most awful work experiences I have ever encountered.

    Advice to Management

RESPECT your employees, TRAIN your employees, LISTEN to your employees, BALANCE work and life, set CLEAR expectations, CLEAN house and start from scratch- its dismal. When employees express unhappiness don't ignore it. Too many other issues to list.

Having rooms that are a bit to small.

    Pros

The money was excellent. The medical benefits were great too! But the hotel itself as far as how it ran was shady af. We were paid from a tip pool as Room Service servers which means the amout we were paid would fluctuate depending on occupancy and the number of amenities we would deliver. At one point two of my checks were the exact number TO THE CENT. When I questioned management they said they couldn't do anything. When I questioned payroll they said they couldn't do anything. Called corporate and two weeks lAyer i was fired... coincidence? no. Ive never worked for a company that really didn't give a f about their employees.

    Cons

Poor management. They're quick to throw you under a bus to save their own behind.

    Advice to Management

Show appreciation and respect to your employees.
