    Pros

Great culture. Great mission. Too bad Medicare wanted to shut it down...left lots of customers with no support system for their power mobility.

    Cons

Needed a better opp for career advancement. Medicare's rental policy put a crimp in cash flow. Professional development was nonexistent.

I worked at The SCOOTER Store (More than a year)

    Pros

Good solid company. Excellent reputation in customer service. The Scooter Store provided mobility equipment needed to those who could not walk on their own and who could not afford to pay for it themselves.

    Cons

The Scooter Store provided mobility equipment needed to those who could not walk on their own and who could not afford to pay for it themselves, therefore, the company billed the patient's Medicare and relied on being reimbursed for the equipment.

    Advice to Management

I have no advice to give to The Scooter Store management, because the company went out of business due to Medicare creating undue hardships with Medicare's slow to and sometimes lack of reimbursing for the equipment provided to patients in need.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Emphasis on doing good work, helping the disabled, and having fun while doing it. Real family atmosphere and emphasis on cooperation. Strong commitment to Core Ideologies until new leadership came into power.

    Cons

Being the largest employer in a smaller market, some salaries were below national averages. Small bonus potential. Some leaders had no experience outside of the company.

    Advice to Management

Some executives brought in in the end times were egotistical, arrogant, and unwilling to listen to colleagues with industry and market experience. They gouged the company with exorbitant salaries, while overseeing layoffs and reductions in force.

    Pros

Being the voice of the Company President, I found my hands were never tied to "Make it Right". I was the problem solver. The final answer.

    Cons

emotional if you could not solve...that...problem, but not everyone understood, the reason for the medical device to be prescribed.

I worked at The SCOOTER Store full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Being able to help the less fortunate by providing them mobility. Fun people to work with on the local level. Good place to work in the beginning, then Doug got greedy.

    Cons

Corporate politics with favoritism, watching Doug's good ol' boy network keep rising in the corporate stature. Double standards for Doug's family members and good buddies.

    Advice to Management

No advice needed for management. The FBI already took care of what needed to be done long ago. The greed forced the company to do the wrong thing all for the sake of money.

  10. "Not bad"

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Former Employee - Product Consultant
    Former Employee - Product Consultant

I worked at The SCOOTER Store full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You could make a good living. Stay focused on you job during work hours and you would be successful. Helping people who really needed DME was the best part of the job.

    Cons

Too much drama. Managers that were given positions due to who they were friends with. Constantly changing duties.

    Advice to Management

You should have expanded your potential market to not rely on Medicare as much.
