I have been working at The Sterling Group full-time

    Pros

Flexibility, hours, the ability to manage my own time and workload. Understanding and compassionate to personal needs.

    Cons

Sometimes new procedures or upgrades are rolled out too early or without sufficient directions or guidance. An email is sent and it is up to you to figure things out.

    Advice to Management

Possibly get more input from line staff when deciding on implementing change.

I have been working at The Sterling Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company is a real family environment workplace. The owners and senior management team are actively involved in the daily operations. They care about the residents and employees. They understand we have had some issues in the past, but are working toward making it the best management company.
The majority of the colleagues have been around for over 5 years, which says a Loy about the company. We have a great support team that do their best to help however possible. There is room for growth and they usually promote from within.

    Cons

We have a lot of policies, which is a good thing as they help guide everyone, but we lack in training many of them. Many people are wearing several hats, which tends to let some things fall through the cracks and can be stressful at times.

    Advice to Management

Keep working toward improving the company. Remember the people that have helped to create a successful, fun, and professional workplace.

I have been working at The Sterling Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people are amazing (home office colleagues and other on-site staff)!! The annual seminars are truly a great source of encouragement and recognition. Recognition of other colleagues is encouraged! Upper management truly cares about the on-site teams.

    Cons

Regional Managers are stretched too thin. Not as much development and training as I'd like. Online 'intranet' can be difficult to navigate.

    Advice to Management

Work to decrease workload of Regional Managers so that they have time to spend training on-site staff. Special things like birthday cards would be great for recognition and motivation.
