    Pros

There are some great people there! Great benefits and good pay. They do a lot for the community, and are very generous to the United way!

    Cons

The union needs to go away!! Some of them are great employees. But 70% of them don't even work a full day's work! The office people don't get away with what They do!! $65,000 a year to do nothing, is Not acceptable for company like Toro!!

    Pros

Great people, great culture, caring atmosphere, supportive leadership, great products, fun environment in which to work.

    Cons

Can be a bit too conservative at times but it is one reason for the strong stock price over the years.

I have been working at The Toro Company full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great people to work with. Great products. Average pay, good benefits.

    Cons

The company is running very lean. Functional groups are purposely setup with conflict in mind for the purpose for working together to find the best solution, but the result is friction, frustration and slow results.

I have been working at The Toro Company full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Half-day Fridays in the summer are great. Flexible work schedule and vacation have been much appreciated. There is a shiny new office building on campus (for a few teams) with generous windows and a new exercise facility. There are many opportunities for interns each year to get their feet wet in the corporate world. The culture is not fast-paced or grueling. Most of the time you work 40 hours and get flexibility with when to use your time-off. People talk about what's going on outside of work. There's a lot of really great people @ Toro. There's an active volunteering culture. People believe in our products. Its great working for a company you know is selling a quality product.

    Cons

At least in IT, there are culture concerns. There's a lack of transparency and communication from management. A manager who seems unqualified may make a decision in a bubble, without asking employees to join in the decision making process. Many employees have become disengaged. Younger-generation individuals under 30-35 are difficult to find here. Perhaps they don't feel their contributions are valued or understood. Surely they sense the overall lack of passion and vision in the projects. Also: management prefers to look outside the company for new leadership talent. There isn't very much meaningful that gets accomplished - and this fact stays well hidden. The amount of non-productivity, passing the buck, and political suave that passes for results is impressive. In this 100 year old manufacturing company, there's a lack of appreciation for technology and software. The CEO isn't helping matters with the super-tight IT budget and under-appreciating technology and the increasing role it will need to have in our products and organization for Toro to survive.
