I worked at The UPS Store (Less than a year)

    Pros

Learning about shipping and basic logistics like printing is pretty cool. Great for young college age students looking for entry level jobs with some schedule flexibility and decent pay.

    Cons

Learning curve is not for everyone as the there a lot of different products and service a sales associate is responsible for. Not a lot of upward movement.

I worked at The UPS Store part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved my manager and work team! In a busy environment having a good team is what keeps you sane. I loved the challenge of constantly learning new things. This job requires a lot of knowledge since the stores offer such a wide variety of services. If something doesn't come up very often you may need to re-learn it when you do it again months later. I liked that because there was always a new challenge and opportunity to learn.

    Cons

The UPS Store is a franchise, therefore is separate from UPS corporate. Customers don't know or understand this and as the associate you must listen to angry customer complaints regarding issues that are outside of your control constantly.

    Pros

The fact you do not work Sundays. The owners buy you your first shirt so you don't pay out of you pocket and it pay a little more than minimum wager .

    Cons

The store owner has no idea how to run a store and gives orders based on what? Get to work know how to work the business you own then we talk.

    Advice to Management

Train yourself in you own business and show us with work your leadership
