I worked at The UPS Store full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Over all a nice place to work. Good coworkers, decent wages for what the job is, and flexible hours.

    Cons

Sometimes short staffed, no real opportunity for advancement, and retail wage scales and benefits and very few bonuses

    Advice to Management

    Offer basic health benefits!

I have been working at The UPS Store full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great customer service training. Rewarding experiences with small business owners. Wealth of acquirable skills. Community-based business.

    Cons

It's all about who you work for and what they're willing to do for you in return for what you give them. Difficult to overcome some customers' objections to fixed pricing. Lots of responsibility. Can become stagnant in personal growth.

    Advice to Management

Performance based compensation does very little to improve profits. STR achievements are a vanity project.

I worked at The UPS Store full-time

    Pros

Nice people, okay pay, and benefits

    Cons

I had to take care of packages and the register. I was hired to be a graphic designer, not a store clerk

I have been working at The UPS Store full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

*Well, I like my coworkers alright and the customers are good where I work.
*Offers some challenges. (You got to figure out what will work and sometimes you have to make something work)
*When you get a hang of it, it's not that hard.
*My job feels pretty safe and stable as far as jobs go.

    Cons

*Each store is different (may or may not be a con)
*There is a lot to learn.
*Likely no benefits (the stores are franchises, so there may be an owner that will give benefits).
*There isn't really any way to make a career out of it, unless you get lucky and become a manager some where or if you buy a store.

    Advice to Management

My management at the store that I work at is pretty good.
