I worked at The University of North Carolina System part-time
Pros
The hours are flexible to the student's schedule and there is always great camaraderie in the work environment. There are lots of leadership opportunities and staff bonding activities.
Cons
This is a student job, so if you are attempting to work as many hours as a off campus job, you may not be able to earn as much.
Pros
Good working environment. Little far from the major cities.
Cons
Nothing special. Salary could be better.

Pros
Nice team and very friendly work environment. Everyone you encounter was nice and helpful.

The commute was awful. Driving into Chapel Hill and either park and ride or using the deck was really difficult. Other than that, no real complaints

I have been working at The University of North Carolina System full-time
Pros
Positive working environment, promotes learning and growth of employees. Offers CE and education credits through the University system.
Cons
Salaries are not often competitive with the private sector due to state legislature. Raise process takes too long. Benefits for the such as health care have become worse and more expensive.

Pros
The work environment is intellectually stimulating. The facilities are excellent, especially Caudill Labs. The surrounding area (Research Triangle) is a great place to live.
Cons
Work long hours that are more for the purpose of getting a degree than making money. This can be a con depending on your goals.
