I worked at The University of Texas-Pan American part-time

    Pros

Really flexible hours, learned a lot in the Civil Engineering field, opened to improvement, great environment for students, got to interact with the professors in a daily basis.

    Cons

In my case, I could only work part-time since I was an international student, but overall a great experience to work for the University of Texas Pan American.

    Advice to Management

Maybe there could be a designated place only for research since the civil engineering program is quite young, the research opportunities have just started.

I have been working at The University of Texas-Pan American part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You gain hands on experience. You can work on different types of projects. The staff is really helpful. Everyone is willing to help you if you don't understand something.

    Cons

You work more than what you get paid. You will sometimes get in trouble for something you didn't do. Some co-workers will be rude and not helpful.

    Pros

Great experience as a workstudy. Worked in the systems department at the library. Management was great....for the most part.

    Cons

Pay was low. Hours were cut short.

    Advice to Management

Hire more workstudies. It can get a handful without another workstudy.
