    Great Company

Apr 12, 2021 - Senior Project Accountant in Utrecht
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Those that I worked for and with directly were great people. I spent 12 years there and would have continued employment with them but I left for family reasons.

    Cons

Large company and sometimes communication was lacking. Work/Life balance needs work. You are expected to work 10-12 hour days and if you don't, you will be overlooked frequently for compensation increases and/or promotions.

    Construction Co-Op

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Was given a great deal of responsibility, most days were different, very fast paced work environment, the company often provided dinner and drinks when upper management came to visit the project, the opportunity to frequently travel for work and having expenses paid for, and the ability to meet a very large amount of people by working with multiple trades at once.

    Cons

Horrible work/life balance (I averaged 60 hrs per week as an intern, having to frequently travel for work (and often times spending large amounts of time, possibly multiple years) on that jobsite, the full time employees worked 10+ hrs every single day), my mentors/bosses were not very respected in their field and couldn't get along with other trades, and we spent a very large amount of time performing meaningless tasks (every week we would review our current work schedule for the trades to perform and EVERY week this changed because they were constantly setting unrealistic timeless for tasks to be completed). **From my understanding, most jobs aren't as bad as the one I was on. Typically, your work week would be less than 50 hrs per week, but there is always a chance that you could be put on a job that is very far behind schedule (like mine) and will literally spend almost all of your waking hours onsite. **

Where do I start? The management, the support, the salary, the opportunity to learn and grow, the personal interest in the employee, the work life balance, this place is simply the best!

    Cons
