I worked at The Warehouse full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    * Decent salary and good benefits (such as discounted health insurance, paid day off on birthday etc) * We had some good team events * Good range of products I was in charge of promoting online * I had a great team to work with * TWG is an iconic brand in NZ

    Cons

    * Higher-level management are fairly terrible. About as dynamic as a dead possum. * Business is in terminal decline, and management are still milking it for more bonuses. * Tiny payrises. * Old/outdated computer equipment and offices

    Advice to Management

Give more autonomy to the individual groups within the business. Accept that much of your existing model is in terminal decline and try to do something about it (every day low pricing doesn't count)

I have been working at The Warehouse part-time

    Pros

    - Plenty of perks, such as group-wide discounts, paid birthday leave, among others - Great team, a real sense of community in-store

    Cons

    - Poor management, especially in-store. Team leaders tend to focus on getting results for themselves and are lazy leaders, - No real career opportunities unless you are working at SSO in Auckland. - Stores are short-staffed and customers are consistently complaining about it

    Advice to Management

-Stop creating more bosses and start inspiring leaders. -Communication betweens departments and stores is critically lacking with our customers being affected. - Stop trying to micromanage stores - Spend less on creating meaningless job titles in Auckland and realign budgets to hire more front-line staff.
