I have been working at The Wireless Experience full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

This company is great to work for if you're just starting out in the industry. It feels at times like you're always at work, but the sales opportunities will come.

    Cons

Some stores are over staffed. Promotion opportunities are nearly non-existent. Don't bother asking for a raise, you'll basically get laughed at. The CEO is slightly out of touch and will claim other retailers pay less than TWE, which is completely untrue. No retailer pays minimum wage, and most pay their employees at least twelve dollars an hour.

    Advice to Management

Give the raises. If someone is making the same hourly rate they made ten years ago, how do you expect people to stay and be productive.

    Pros

Great customers and coworkers. AT&T is one of the leaders in the wireless industry. People trust them. They are a good company to represent.

    Cons

This is one of the most micromanaged companies I have ever seen. An 82 store chain, small by comparison to most of the world, huge in the mind of the owner and "Chief of Staff" but run with a Mom and Pop convenience store mentality. Not paying out a dollar in overtime is far more important than losing sales. You are required to walk out on a store full of customers rather than go over in hours. Employees are told to exit by the back door, an invitation to employee theft, rather than trigger the customer counter up front, because percentages are more important than security. There is a wonderful diagnostics tool that, again just for percentages, is used to check brand new devices instead of being the useful tool it was intended to be. Managers and even district managers have little decision making power because nobody outside of the corporate office is considered to have a brain. The only way to make a decent living is to sell a lot of Directv. Unfortunately there is no marketing, no displays and no brochures. All in all a sad little company destined for failure.

    Advice to Management

Hire quality people, pay them well and let them do their jobs.
