I have been working at TheBlaze TV full-time (Less than a year)

I worked at TheBlaze TV full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Casual and friendly work environment, reasonable autonomy, excellent healthcare

    Cons

Pay at TheBlaze is below average. Promises of pay raises rarely were followed through on.

Middle management is many areas was weak. It was defined by either blind submission to execs, or lack of experience.

The business is struggling to find its place in the market. Layoffs have been plentiful as a once promising dream diminishes.

Too much power is centered in one person. This individual can be whimsical and prone to sudden shifts in executive direction.

Frequent changes in executive leadership revealed distrust at the executive level. This created anxiety and uncertainty among lower-level employees.

    Advice to Management

The promise TheBlaze once offered is no longer viable. In order to maintain relevance in the sphere of conservative/libertarian media, it must center itself around the individual who made TheBlaze happen and cut its losses in the area of television. Producing and maintaining a reliable and cost-effective television footprint is unsustainable under TheBlaze's present model. TheBlaze still has a lot to offer in terms of multimedia, but not as they are presently structured.

I worked at TheBlaze TV full-time

    Pros

Creative environment, many opportunities for growth

    Cons

Chaotic leadership, abrupt changes, frequent layoffs followed by mass hiring

    Advice to Management

When setting a new corse, give ample time and resources for new agenda to be implemented before changing direction again. Frequent shifts destroy morale and dampen enthusiasm. Loyalty is not rewarded either, so don't expect to receive any.

I worked at TheBlaze TV full-time

    Pros

My years at the Blaze were the best yet in terms of professional relationships. I will say the company attracted incredible, good-hearted, hardworking people. And if you're creative and a renaissance man, you'll have a lot of freedom to blaze your own trail.

    Cons

The constant shifts in direction and mission and the turnover in leadership all leave you feeling very rudderless.

I worked at TheBlaze TV full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Respectable work and plenty of opportunities to contribute to the whole. Admirable effort to find the truth and give a voice to the average American.

    Cons

Management is amateur. Entire enterprise revolves around one man, and most everything and everyone is sidelined because of that. Too many people going in too many different directions.

    Advice to Management

Make sure there's a more efficient division of labor, and listen to the little guy at the base of the corporate ladder.

    Pros

people were willing to show me around
i had a lot of freedom to decide what to work on
got to work in almost every department
outlook of getting hired was good
ceo and president were very inspiring and positive, but they both left soon after my internship ended
pay was average/good for an internship!

    Cons

gave me too much freedom to decide as an intern
some supervisors were cliquey and exclusive/not very helpful because i was an intern
didn't get a great vibe from higher-ups about the future of the company, so i didn't even apply to work full time after graduation

I worked at TheBlaze TV full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great people and work environment.
Innovative and smart leadership on business development side.
    Idealistic, start-up atmosphere.

    Cons

There are no clear paths for advancement and professional growth.
Editorial leadership should put more effort into broadening the site's audience.
Company is still too dependent on one person.

    Advice to Management

Better integrate the editorial team with the rest of the company's staff.
Use increased revenue to hire more writers rather than repeated meaningless promotions for certain staff just because they got in on the ground floor.
