I worked at Theory (More than a year)

    Pros

This company was by far the best retail company I have ever worked for. The Leesburg and DC stores have such a close team, and I still keep in contact with many of my peers from these stores. The training was great and I learned so many new things about luxury fashion. I received the aiming on both a regional and national level. They gave us an allowance every 3 months to buy clothes with our discount. They even matched my previous hourly rate when I came and worked as a temp over college vacations

    Cons

Promote more from within the company

    I worked at Theory part-time

    Pros

-Great exposure to corporate team members if you're looking to pursue a career in high-end retail. Small store with a lot of individualized attention

    Cons

    - Despite being a leader in profits for the brand, some of the work days were very slow and there was nothing to do but size and finger space the hangers

    Advice to Management

    - Strike more of a balance between being too serious and too casual. Different managers have different expectations and those can be confusing when there are multiple managers on the floor at once.

    Pros

    Great company to work for.
Managers seem to really care and want the best for you.
Even though it is commission employees are polite to one another.
    Great clothing allowance.
Getting days off was fairly easy.

    Cons

A few b*tchy staff members who will steal sales.
Can get really busy during weekends and holidays.
Understaffed most of the time I was there so you have to work the closing shift a few times a week.
Some of our weekly goals are set way too high, so no chance of making commission some weeks.

I worked at Theory full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great job, love the atmosphere and my team members. Great clients that love the brand! Generous clothing allowance.

    Cons

None, it just seems like my store manager has a heavy load to take on and doesn't have too much of a work-life balance.
Retail hours aren't the best, but I still like it.

    Advice to Management

Constant changes in the policies, hard to keep up and if you don't keep up you will fail an audit. Employees are so worried about failing an internal audit and the company should be worried about other things than why is there a damage tag that doesn't have a manager initial on it. Set a policy for more than a couple of months so we can all be on track and pass these ridiculous audits.
