I have been working at Theracare full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I was able to help children who needed services. I also met many families and was able to teach children at risk.

    Cons

Because everything was done via email, I never really was able to meet and get to know my co-workers.

    Advice to Management

Even though I have been ill, I am fully recovered and ready to work again.

I worked at Theracare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Multiple sites to work if census is low. Awesome co-workers. Entry level therapist welcome for management roles. Therapist owned company

    Cons

High productivity expectations. Must clock out to maintain productivity and then pay higher rate of insurance if hours fall below standard. Misinformed by manager, found out with paycheck deduction.

Pressured to with clients who refuse

Screen residential patient based on unused funds rather than patient need

    Monitors numbers instead of quality

    Advice to Management

    Invest in your staff retention
    Educate appropriately
    Be truthful
Change the 8 minute rule back to 8 minutes instead of the 2 minutes rule posted

I worked at Theracare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Goid pay and health insurance

    Cons

Stressful from the part of your immediate supervisor expecting the SC to be available at all times, even at 9pm at night answering her e-mails

I worked at Theracare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fellow employees were great under poor management conditions.
Employees were professional, cared for the patients, worked hard to rehab those assigned to them.

    Cons

Management would not listen to unethical practices of specific regional directors. Im glad contracted facilities are becoming more aware of management unprofessionalism

    Advice to Management

Listen to your excellent performing therapy staff. Be ethical and stop playing favorites with your upper management. No wonder this organization is going down hill. Your company is employee owned. Listen to the masses.

I worked at Theracare as an intern (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Wonderful staff, very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my time here, it was a great learning experience. Definitely a great first job.

    Cons

I don't really have any cons to post. It was a normal 9-5 jobs with nice pay. I worked with a really nice staff and it taught me the value of working hard.

Current Employee - Teacher in Elmont, NY

    Pros

the students are great to work with

    Cons

communication between office and staff does not exist. for example a new coordinator was hired and no e-mails were sent out

    Advice to Management

Communication and support are needed. There needs to be more support for teachers when there is difficulty with a child, other than being told to just deal with it. Also pay is the lowest in the industry
