I worked at Theradex full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people there are really smart. Hard working and dedicated. They provide opportunities and pretty good training for entry level CRAs.

    Cons

The pay and bonuses way too low, not competitive at all. Work load was not always balanced.

    Advice to Management

Pay more and good peopl will stay.

    Pros

Very nice people work at Theradex but they don't last long. Upper management especially executive management does not have a clue as to how to work with people. Overworking is the norm and expectation.

    Cons

Upper Management especially CEO does not know how to work with people and has unrealistic expectations. There is currently a problem retaining Clinical people and project managers are all leaving the company. People are regularly overworked and expected to regularly work a lot of overtime including weekends (this is not optional, it's required). There is NO work life balance and as a result people are leaving at a fast pace as well as clients. Highly stressful work environment.

    Advice to Management

Need to take a good introspective look at yourselves and your expectations. You need to right size.

    Pros

Great people to work with. Flexible scheduling and working from home. Promotes from within. Excellent benefits, particularly the tuition reimbursement program.

    Cons

Computer systems are not being used to the maximum potential, which creates a lot of manual work processing.

    Advice to Management

Concentrate on maximising the various computer programs that are available to automate many of the tasks that are currently processed manually.

    Pros

A managment team that is open to new ideas, and recognize the accomplishments of their employees.
Great co-workers who support your efforts.
    Excellent work/life balance.
Managers who are willing to work with you in times when you have an issue outside of work by affording you a work from home day when needed.
Brilliant summer hours program allowing every other Friday off (a great perk)!

    Cons

Hard to leave the office to get lunch. Management not always available when input is required.

    Advice to Management

Make time for your direct reports to find out how they are doing.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Theradex full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great team members and very open, flexible environment. Management really takes the time to listen to employee ideas and genuinely cares about their staff. You do not have all the politics of a large company which is nice. Team members work hard but skills gained are highly sought after and you learn a lot. It's rewarding to be part of a team that is making such a positive impact.

    Cons

There is turnover like any other company but a few staff members have left and come back which says something positive about the company as well.

I have been working at Theradex full-time

    Pros

Employees are nice and look out for each other. Staff members try to promote a family-like environment, which makes it easier to come to work everyday.

    Cons

Very low salaries compared to other companies, favoritism is displayed by members of the Board, no career advancement, unprofessional behavior (gossiping about former employees, etc) by clinical operations leaders, a high turnover rate that is unlike most companies, unrealistic expectations of employees, and LOW SALARIES.

    Advice to Management

Work on making your employees happy. Do not wait until good staff members resign before you decide to appreciate their hard work. Stop using the same employee to write "positive" reviews about the company.

I have been working at Theradex full-time

    Pros

Employees are hardworking, very friendly, and care about each other, unlike members of the Board. Unfortunately, that is about it.

    Cons

Unprofessional and immature behavior from the "Board" during meetings and client visits. Crazy workload and low pay. Lack of employee appreciation until an employee resigns. Human Resources is a joke. Silly job titles/promotions that make employees act like they are more important than they really are, outdated salaries, very very very behind on technology, and an extremely HIGH turnover rate.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees about what needs to be done to make Theradex the company it USED to be. Stop using "lack of communication" as a reason why employees are disgruntled. You know it is more than that.

Ok company to start working for. That's about it.

    Cons

Very small company. Numerous layoffs, and high workload. Not a smart move to go here.

    Advice to Management

keep good people. Don't fire long term employees because you are cheap

    Pros

small company size, benefits are good, can work very independently as a home-based CRA, good place to get your foot in the door as a CRA with only hospital/coordinator experience

    Cons

Training for CRAs is poor; it is a figure it out and sick or swim environment. Absolutely no opportunities for growth as a CRA; they want to keep you as a CRA and have you do nothing else. They don't value CRA time or effort, this is not acknowledged in any way especially not financially. Time spent getting to/from airports, waiting for delayed flights, etc. is your own time and is not billable. Each department functions independently; there is no interaction even though everyone should be working together. Sometimes you are overloaded with work, sometimes you have nothing to do. Work tasks are just made up on the fly; no one is ever sure who is supposed to do what. Projects are managed poorly.

    Advice to Management

Come up with a standardized model for CRA career development and give CRAs options to do other work if they want (project management, data management). This will help CRA retention.
