    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Thermo Fisher Scientific full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Solid. Profitable company with good benefits. Seems to be good work environment if you are in the Life Sciences or Laboratory businesses.

    Cons

Not so good to be working in the Capex Industrial markets. Poor leadership. Continuous changes so the sins of Management don't catch up with them. Seem to acquire good functioning companies and spend the next 15-20 years bleeding them dry.

    Advice to Management

Accountants are killing the business long term --- get rid of them.

    Pros

Large, stable company, great for training younger people or recent college grads. Benefits are on par with other large corporations.

    Cons

Very bureaucratic, Tend to get pigeon holed once your in a department or division. Mid level managers are like a revolving door, upper level as well.

    Pros

    Great coworkers,self managed,great benefits,average management

    Cons

Little growth opportunities( need to know someone)Pay is not competitive,Performance review system is bogus, management use it to control merit increases( pay increase is a joke, little to nothing)management use report card system to review( no continuous feedback, manager saves everything for end of year them surprises you - horrible way to treat employees, I don't thing this is the company's standard, it's just not being followed by managers

    Advice to Management

Value your employees more, not just on paper, stop giving all the money to management, hire managers with better people skills

    Pros

Casual workplace, some flexibility in work hours

    Cons

Bureaucracy! Nobody knows who is responsible for doing what. Organization charts are packed with management overlap in scope and territory.

    Advice to Management

Too many managers! The perspective is you are all just taking care of each other instead of creating value for the company.
