I have been working at Thermo Fisher Scientific full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people in middle management, marketing and customer service. Pay is fair, benefits spectacular, company cars and flex work schedules. Company doing amazing things to save lives. Many companies under Thermo name are superior and lead the world in new innovative technology.

    Cons

Leadership change in 2017 (distribution) has turned company completely upside down. Bully style management treating others with no respect at all. It’s tough to watch people who have given years of their life to the company now be treated like second class citizens. Customers starting to feel the change and looking for alternate sources for product.

    Advice to Management

Sell the distribution channel to a company that will provide leadership, support and positive direction to the employees.

I worked at Thermo Fisher Scientific full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Strong company in an incredibly important industry.

    Cons

Top heavy, 1 person does the job of many. Underpaid and micromanaged!

    Advice to Management

Competitive pay! You also need to take a good long look at your director level executives! Deceitful, underhanded and will toss an employee under the bus without a 2nd thought. And that mentality starts at your HR.

    Pros

Solid. Profitable company with good benefits. Seems to be good work environment if you are in the Life Sciences or Laboratory businesses.

    Cons

Not so good to be working in the Capex Industrial markets. Poor leadership. Continuous changes so the sins of Management don't catch up with them. Seem to acquire good functioning companies and spend the next 15-20 years bleeding them dry.

    Advice to Management

Accountants are killing the business long term --- get rid of them.

    Pros

Large, stable company, great for training younger people or recent college grads. Benefits are on par with other large corporations.

    Cons

Very bureaucratic, Tend to get pigeon holed once your in a department or division. Mid level managers are like a revolving door, upper level as well.
