    Pros

Great experience to get you started in your career. The work that you can do here as an intern will impress future employers.

    Cons

I cannot think of any cons that I experienced during my internship. Remember that people are people so your experience may vary depending on your personality.

I worked at Thermo Fisher Scientific as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Amazing work culture. Everyone who is there is friendly and wants to work well together. The higher-ups work hard and all are willing to talk to you and give you advice. Make as many connections as you can.

    Cons

The size of the company can make it so that as an intern or in research it seems you're doing more monotonous tasks than say, at a small company.

I have been working at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Salary is a little low for permanent employees doing the basic lab work driving the company and making the products, but there is opportunity for career growth. Great culture. I cannot say enough about how much I love working here! At least in Frederick, MD, this site is one of the best, most communicative cultures I have ever worked. Managers are all very god, professional, and dedicated to helping their staff grow. Great entry level starting company, good place to build experience, perhaps if it goes well a great place to build a career. I would come back if the opportunity arises.

    Cons

There has been a recent downsizing of staff due to a shift in projects from site to site. Salaries are a little low. IT department is horrible... but no place is perfect. Management knows how slow IT is so they are very understanding. Great people, there are not really many cons here.

    Advice to Management

They are doing well by their staff, maybe invest more in on-site IT? I will miss you guys so much when this is over!!
