I worked at Thermo Fisher Scientific full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Large company with excess of resources.
    Worldwide presence.
Large amounts of cash (seems like) to buy other businesses.
Good place to spend a few years and learn

    Cons

High level professionals (directors, VPs and some managers) are disposable resources. There is a constant cleanup of high level people that does not allow lower levels to have a good sense of direction.
Prefers to grow its business by buying other companies rather than grow organically.
Because of the constant buying of other companies and the constant removal of leaders, there is no definite company culture formed. They are just a group of people working in a large company.
Not a good place for a long term career as most people are afraid of being cleaned out.

    Advice to Management

    Value long term employees.
Foster long term careers with the company

    Pros

Great company with a great mission and people who stand behind it. Excellent place to grow your career as management is focused on developing their people. There is not a standard career path, as long as you voice what your interests are, your leader will work with you to develop and get you there.

    Cons

This company is focused on innovation and always looking forward so change is a constant. Not a con but can be for someone who is not motivated by change.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Thermo Fisher Scientific full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits package, and the employees are amazing.

    Cons

Mandatory overtime, non mandatory overtime(guilted), and high pressure. They also pay women and men differently. If you are a woman it is hard to move into management with current site leadership. Young men are promoted over more experienced and qualified women.

    Advice to Management

Try to use more positive reinforcement. The negativity makes it harder and harder to come to work everyday. Also, don't discount women. We can be pretty amazing :)
