Decent company for retirees and part time students
Jul 5, 2021 - QC Technician in SingaporeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Decent place as a training company and if you would like to retire. Job can become mundane if you are not willing to learn. Recommend if you want to take on part time studies as there will be a decent work life balance.
Cons
Base pay is low and no career progression. Seen technicians work for 5-6 years before even being considered to be promoted to senior technician. They would rather hire a senior technician than to promote one of their own technician who is fully capable. Company also likes to promote that they have a high employment rate but in actual fact, it’s due to turnover rate being really high hence resulting in the need to hire for replacement.

Overall, good company. But, to be successful and respected, work is expected to come first
Mar 27, 2014 - Director of SalesRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good benefits. Field based employees have considerable flexibility and tools. Quality employees (colleagues) are the norm. Large employee base, and global office footprint allow for considerable opportunity IF willing/able to relocate. Stable, growing company. Very broad and deep portfolio to offer customer base.
Cons
Work life balance (high quality employees get bulk of heavy lifting because they are good and effective). Stagnant middle management (band IV/V) in some business units. Rapid growth via acquisition leads to company not being fully aligned or efficient. Having both direct selling business units + a distribution model (Fisher), business unit goals don't align and causes confusing and mix messaging to customer base. Company has a value proposition that is yet to be implemented; lack of holistic thinking across business units and parochial thinking causes a lot of internal focus, vs. focus on the customer. Promotion can be difficult; employees tend to be pigeon-holed.

Disappointed by what could have been a great employment situation.

Benefits are above average, 6% match to investment (at that time), cafeteria was very good, and I met some wonderful people...and some less than wonderful people...most of them in higher ranking positions.
Cons
Training was sporadic, there was no learning curve allowed, the low man on the totem pole always got the cast offs from the management level. Work life balance was a big thing there and absolutely nothing was actually being done about it. Meeting after meeting and yet we were still asked to work harder without daring to go over 40 hours and with fewer people in department to complete tasks.

Super stressful environment, overworked teams, terrible work life balance
Nov 4, 2022 - MarketingRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Exposure to a large organisation with matrix teams, stakeholders, cross functions ,etc Sometimes good bonus
Cons
Very high staff turnover, everybody is super stretched all the time and unrealistic expectations from everyone. It is a stressful environment to work. Everybody complains about terrible work life balance but no solid steps are ever taken about workload Marketing technology really behind, outdated systems Really difficult to grow in the role unless you are a favourite of the higher leadership, leadership forced teams to return to site post covid without infrastructure to support A really random office location, not easy to get to at all Really old fashioned office environment - need more mordernisation. No efforts are made to make employees from different backgrounds feel included or heard.

Pros
Loved the fact that there is a good work life balance for me which is very important in my industry
Cons

Political boys club, bad promotions from proximity bias, toxic positivity
Apr 1, 2023 - Senior ManagerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
There are some very talented, fantastic people here. There are great products and technology. The company mission is admirable. DEI is embraced.
Cons
Compensation is well below market, merit increases do not keep up with inflation, benefits continue to increase in price while being watered down. Leadership views inflation as a 'temporary condition'. Teams are severely understaffed for a company this size and work life balance is nonexistent. Leadership is unable to effectively cross-communicate between divisions and groups and therefore cannot prioritize initiatives making everything a high priority while providing zero resources for execution. The playing field is not level, and you'll be judged by arbitrary standards others don't have to meet. Lack of work/life balance and burnout are viewed as the fault of employees, not the fact we are trying to do too much with too little or that leadership is disconnected from reality. Promotions are not based on accomplishments, talents, or abilities. Non-contributing zeroes who make themselves highly visible to leadership and say things leadership wants to hear are rewarded and promoted ahead of those actually making things happen. The culture is riddled with toxic positivity and complete disconnection from reality.
