    Pros

Highly respected university and hospital, high growth due to mergers and acquisitions , great managers, empathetic human resource department. There is a lot of teamwork in the hospital, everyone doing their personal best.

    Cons

Consolidation of jobs due to mergers, recent mass lay offs.

    Advice to Management

Keep communication lines open with staff

I have been working at Thomas Jefferson University full-time

    Pros

Great people. Wonderful purpose and mission. Excellent benefits.

    Cons

The size of the company makes innovation very difficult - especially in the last two years while merging and acquiring other health systems.

    Advice to Management

Look more in house to help shape innovation as opposed to farming out to consultancies.

    Pros

They have a good benefits package

    Cons

Most upper mgmt there a very long time (+25 years) and out of touch with the world
General Tech level is very poor
People who know how to get things done are leaned on for everything
    Poor communication
    No rewards/respect for technical excellence

    Advice to Management

Hire professionals and treat them with the respect they deserve. Look at your hiring practices and improve the quality of people you hire. Educate the people you currently have and try to re-gain control of your organization. Stop abusing your star players. Start addressing technical debt.

I have been working at Thomas Jefferson University full-time

    Pros

Jefferson offers good benefits but not employee friendly. I worked here for 35 years and the changes being made are horrible. Dedicated employees being let go for people who have MBA and know nothing. President is not a family oriented person. This place use to be like a large family and now your just a number

    Cons

Poor raises for staff. Too many senior management being hired and good people let go to buy up new hospitals.

    Advice to Management

Hire new HR Partners who care about current employees and assist them when needed. Treat all staff the same. Layoffs suck and the way you are doing it is wrong.
