Coworkers are strong and hardworking, rotating management a problem

      Pros

Team approach in managing patients in a large unit. Most staff are hard working decent and honest people who do care about the patients. Plenty of overtime offered but not required since cutting back on hiring due to COVID. Work every third weekend is a major plus. Self scheduling. Good benefits and healthcare, per diem can get health care also. There are many Jefferson Hospitals all over NJ and PA and you can apply for jobs online.

      Cons

Unit can become volatile easily in a large unit with voluntary and involuntary patients. Management does not handle unit issues quickly enough.

      Pros

Jefferson is a nice place to work. They have good benefits and tuition reimbursement. They also have room for growth.

      Cons

They, like most corporations, have so many working parts that you have to get through before things actually get completed.

CEO going to destroy a great department

      Pros

Great location in city, many great (long time) staff members. Very good benefits.

      Cons

Pay is low compared to other university hospitals. 2-3% raises if you're lucky and they take part of it raising the cost of benefits every year. I left after 20 years because senior management is doing their best to get rid of the department I worked in.

      Not as great as you

      Pros

Good health benefits, job stability, friendly co-workers.

      Cons

Poor pay. Haven't received anything other than a 2 percent yearly increase in 7 years. Salary was competitive when I started years ago, but now I am below the 25th percentile nationally for my job and experience level. The times I've asked for substantial pay increases, I'm always told that it is impossible, not because of my performance, but because of the budget. My salary never increases, but responsibilities and requirements are increasing by the day!
