      Methodist Hospital in South Philadelphia

      Pros

TJUH pays well and offers great benefits and there are many different locations to choose from which are all accessible by public transportation

      Cons

I worked at the Methodist Hosp in S. Philadelphia as a Patient Registrar in the Radiology Dept. where I was bullied and basically treated like dirt!! Serious systemic problems continue to prevail at this location including racial issues as well as age discrimination. It reminded me of the 'mean girl' mentality I had to deal with in grade school and high school with the employees gossiping/whispering to each other behind my back (thinking that I didn't notice) and going out of their way to make me feel like an outcast ( I supposed they knew that I was going to be let go). It was made perfectly clear each day that I wasn't one of their 'favorites'. I was also shocked to hear the medical staff regularly mocking patients, even helpless and sick elderly patients, laughing about their mannerisms and various health issues. Having been a patient of this facility in the past, I found this unprofessional behavior to be appalling and cruel and will never patronize this medical establishment ever again in the future! And just one more word of caution, employees at the Methodist Hospital are being laid off in record numbers, even those with 25+ years of service without ANY notice whatsoever. There was even an administrative level staff member who showed up for work like she did every day for close to 20 years only to be locked out of her office and terminated by being escorted out of the back of the building as if she was some kind of criminal! All of Jefferson's slogans and so called employee well-being programs are nothing but a smokescreen since their HR dept. does not enforce the supposedly "mandatory" code of conduct policies.

Great Hospital and University but underpaid

      Pros

Great benefits, great location, nice people

      Cons

What I don't like is that a lot of the employees including me are under compensated. Instead of hiring for a position, they would rather over work their current employees and give them that positions duties with no incentive or raise. So you end up doing multiple jobs duties without being compensated appropriately.

      Pros

They offer great benefits and are located in a great location within the city.

      Cons

It is nearly impossible to make anything but a lateral move because of human resource policies.
