    Approves of CEO

I worked at Thompson Hotels part-time

    Pros

Can be great money and beautiful properties.

    Cons

working under management was a nightmare

    Advice to Management

Manage better: recognize and praise strengths as well--and hopefully more than-- seeing fault. We were hired for a reason. Being competitive with those you manage is disgusting.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Thompson Hotels full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Well-run with an emphasis on customer service. Not micro-managed as they allow you to be yourself within reason. There is some room for advancement and you can always apply for positions at other Thompson run hotels (the Thompson group is a hotel-management company).

    Cons

They are non-union so they can lag behind in the pay/raises department. Perhaps not the best benefits out there.

I worked at Thompson Hotels full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The atmosphere of the hotel was great, food was great, and fellow employees were very personable and friendly.

    Cons

The restaurant was fairly new when I was working there so it was a bit unorganized and the turnover of employees was high.

    Advice to Management

I loved the management while was there, but I'm not sure about it currently.

I worked at Thompson Hotels full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working at HRH is like working in a big family. It's really really fun and everyone is very friendly and social.

    Cons

I kept getting semi-offered the position of concierge (which is a coveted position at HRH) but they never gave me the job.

    Advice to Management

Keep on doin what you're doin!

I worked at Thompson Hotels full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If senior management notices and recognizes you, and you prove to them that you are a hard worker, there is much room for growth and promotions.

    Cons

If you are not supported by senior management, you will never have a chance to advance. There is a tight knit family mentality at the hotel and so if one senior person goes against you, everyone will.

    Advice to Management

Be more open to candid opinions from employees.
