I have been working at Thomson Reuters full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I've been working at Thomson Reuters for almost 2 years and I'm leaving because I need new challenges. The company culture is great, you can get a great salary, great benefits, lots of events to take part in. People are nice and friendly. Overall has been a really good experience.

    Cons

it's really difficult to progress in the career, or even to change team.
Some people are a bit laid back so sometimes even if you put enthusiasm in things, projects don't work out well or take ages to get done, which is quite frustrating.

    Advice to Management

    there are too many managers

I have been working at Thomson Reuters full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great office environment and atmosphere with a relaxed, professional ethos. Great people and a very robust induction and training program. The company ethics run through everything you touch.

    Cons

Legacy systems from multiple acquisitions over the years mean you can find yourself querying several different systems (some of which require specific requests of other colleagues) to get information.

Spreadsheets govern everything and you find yourself checking and double checking everything. This is being addressed however.

    Advice to Management

    Integrate systems.

I have been working at Thomson Reuters full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great flexibility and support for a healthy work-life balance.
    Good HR support.
    Good salary and career opportunities.

    Cons

    IT is a nightmare
The size of the company means a lot of services are outsourced, sometimes off-shore, which can create a lot of bureaucracy and complicated processes.

I have been working at Thomson Reuters full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people here are always great - have only worked with one person I didn't get on with in almost 20 years. Lots of international opportunity as well.

    Cons

Usual problem of "growing" is its aim. Which is difficult when it isn't the #1 in its ex-Reuters marketplace. The company is also extremely silo-ed as a consequence.

I have been working at Thomson Reuters full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great work environment and nice colleagues

    Cons

Once you get hired your salary remains pretty much the same. With the time you will see you purchasing power going down no matter how hard and good you work. So in the long term the only solution is to get out. Be sure you negotiate well your salary when you join!
