I have been working at Thrive Networks full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Thrive presents lots of unique opportunities to get exposure to many technologies across a broad and impressive client base. It is very fast paced, but clear that top performers are rewarded, promoted and paid accordingly. Culture is strong. Company has many team / region based outings and tries to really put forth a customer first approach to everything.

    Cons

The company is growing so fast, that sometimes it is hard to keep up.

    Advice to Management

Keep the culture strong. Communicate across regions slightly more.

I have been working at Thrive Networks full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The corporate culture at Thrive is team oriented - if you have a question you will always find someone to help. Managers will challenge you to perform your best and support you along the way. The office locations in Massachusetts are conveniently located north and south of the city so minimal traffic, the offices in New York city are very close to transportation, and Maine offers a beautiful summer. Plus, we get lunch...

    Cons

There could be a better 401k match, but at least there is one at all.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

I worked at Thrive Networks full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Nothing more than a paycheck

    Cons

Like most MSP's they have no idea what they're doing, it's sad because they do have the potential to be great for the size they are but they really lowered their standards when they purchased Infohedge. Another MSP that was a sinking ship but I'm sure Thrive will clean house with them soon.

    Advice to Management

Eliminate Excess badge and do away with middle management that is representing the company poorly before you lose the clients and in return loose Revenue!

I worked at Thrive Networks full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Thrive is an IT services managed service provider. I recommend this job as an entry level job if you want to gain a lot of experience in a short time but ultimately you won't want to stay more than 3 years. Management is OK with this because they need cheap workers without the experience to know there are better options for hard working, intelligent, driven professionals.

    Cons

Work / life balance is poor. Staff and customer turnover is high. Company has been sold several times in the past 5 years and also merged with another MSP Company. Culture is non existent. I have never seen a company bite off its nose to spite its face more than Thrive. Without the mergers this company just treads water, gaining new clients, losing others. But why is this? Management has tried to makes changes...

    Advice to Management

Value you employees, customers, and culture more! No seriously, we know you say this but how about actually doing it. New CEO and recent merger have not really changed things yet. New CEO s motto work hard play hard can be translated into work extra hours, be 100 % billable, don't ask for a raise and we will give you an outing every 6 months. After work hours though so you can spend your personal time to build the...

I worked at Thrive Networks full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You get exposed to a lot of different things, lots of challenges of you like to solve problems. A bigger company with some impressive clients.

    Cons

Lack of communication and conflicting priorities, things get picked up and dropped all the time, and a lot of the "that's not my department/problem" so when you have a problem you are sort of running around with nobody to help you.

    Advice to Management

Work on communication throughout the entire company. Rob the CEO states service first, then worry about billing, but the managers contradict that and stop fixing the client issues because it isn't covered, even though the account manager won't be in for a week.

I have been working at Thrive Networks full-time

    Pros

Thrive is a great place to work for many reasons, but mainly the people. Everyone is warm, friendly, and happy to help others learn and grow. All levels of the organization are also approachable and available from the Tier 1 Engineers to the Directors to the CEO. Working for an MSP can be a challenge, but while people here expect you to run with things, they wont let you fall. Thrive is growing fast and I see only good...

    Cons

It is fast paced and sometimes it can get confusing on who to go to for what, but eventually you get there. There are plans to help with this and I expect marked improvement.

    Advice to Management

More transparency into numbers and goals would be appreciated.

I have been working at Thrive Networks full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Laid back management as long as you do your job. CEO is awesome (the one I've meet) No strict or frightful procedures in place where you could lose your job due to an error. Very flexible if you need to work remote. Best aspect - you're not stuck to one technology. Route switch firewalls (multivendor) wireless you can do it all

    Cons

Some Engineers do not script changes and make changes on the fly. No change control or change management process (which can be good or bad or very bad.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. Maybe have some sort of change management in place especially for client networks who have an sla for next to no downtime.
