I worked at Thunder Valley Casino full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Comprehensive benefits, flexibility in schedule, and full time.

    Cons

Not a typical creative environment, almost no opportunity for advancement, below median for pay rate, and working a vast majority of holidays is expected Casino wide.

    Advice to Management

Creating opportunities for team members to develop their careers. Encouraging and expressing that you value those team members that do go above and beyond their position to help their respective department and Thunder Valley succeed.

I worked at Thunder Valley Casino full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Free meal, good benefits, opportunities for advancement. Work smart and prove yourself. Once you get your foot in the door there are opportunities to move around

    Cons

Some departments are under paid even if they have immense responsibilities. When it takes months to train the last thing you want is turnover. Better pay means less turnover

    Advice to Management

Pay should be based on skill level and knowledge needed to do the job

I worked at Thunder Valley Casino full-time

    Pros

They do a company picnic one day a year at the local waterpark, but that doesn't make up for how employees are treated the rest of the year. They don't get it.

    Cons

Where do I start? Outdated and archaic policies. Every department is understaffed and overworked. Employee dining room is unsanitary. Unsafe and unsecure back of house (Security doesn't even look up when you walk past them at the employee entrance so anyone can just walk in and they have). This casino makes bank and yet they still go cheap on everything. Super high turnover.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees better and make it a fun place to work. It isn't. Quit thinking that a company picnic once a year is how you make it a good workplace and instead focus on the actual workplace itself.

I have been working at Thunder Valley Casino full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Low pay start of minimum wage compared to other casino, after that .25 raise per year.

    Cons

Too many to list. Stay away and alive if you don't have to work for this casino. Guests have bad experiences because of "Casino policy ". They take away your money and make news rules, you won't be able to get it back. If you win take the money and don't come back to pay for their greeds.

    Advice to Management

    Unbelievable in negative way!

    Pros

Good benefits for most employees. Work schedules, hours, time, days are great compared to similar 24hr businesses. Many different departments you can move to.

    Cons

Most supervisors and managers are inexperienced and seem to hate their jobs. There is free food daily, but selection isn't great.

    Advice to Management

    Do your job.
