I have been working at Tidemark

    Pros

Very innovative company focused on disrupting the legacy EPM/CPM space. Customers looking to transform the old legacy ways of managing corporate performance and allow for accurate and contextual data to flow throughout the organization are achieving great results. Amazing board of directors and executive team.

    Cons

No real cons that would cause a new potential employee to not join Tidemark. Executive team is incredibly involved and supportive and is seeking to grow leaps and bounds.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work with the vision and continuing to enhance the product both for current customer needs as well as supporting the vision of making predictive and prescriptive analytics a daily use case for our clients to move the needle on the business metrics.

I worked at Tidemark full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Catered lunches, good highly skilled people in every department.

    Cons

The product is not scalable. There was an urgent requirement to redo a bunch of underlying pieces but the management was ONLY focussing on bringing on more customers when the current ones were never using it because of the issues. The wall with the big brand names, yeah none of them use the product anymore.

    Advice to Management

    Admit you screwed up.

I worked at Tidemark full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Vision and promise of the company. Great set of people (almost all gone). Ambitiously useful exterior needed a sophisticated interior. We did get to create some great technology in spite of the lack of support, and had some incredibly talented team members to work with. Team Tidemark was one of the best feelings and stages of my career to date. I would like to repeat that.

    Cons

The remaining co-founders, who are still there following the wipeout of investors and employees after recapitalization and layoffs, disempower those beneath. They were highly dishonest and disingenuous during my time there. Accountability was absent and actually discouraged. Very poor financial management, huge investment early on to maintain appearance of functionality with a damaging architecture, expensive support...

I worked at Tidemark for more than 2 years

    Pros

    - Amazing teammates - Good benefits I really loved a lot of the folks I worked with. They were smart, hard working, and very thoughtful. I made some great connections. There are really great office perks: free food, massages, and a relaxed environment. The health benefits were pretty good.

    Cons

There were a lot of issues with how things were communicated in the company. Transparency was in name only. The upper management talked a big game, but did not trust people that they hired to follow through. Things were constantly changing and shifting. There was very little stability. The wrong priorities set the roadmap for a very long time, and that changed a little too late. They laid off a lot of people who could...

Hire inclusively. Change up the leadership. Put down your egos. Start ACTUALLY listening to your employees instead of pretending to and then doing whatever you want. Don't just dismiss criticism.

    I worked at Tidemark

    Pros

    Decent benefits and free lunch.

    Cons

If I could give negative stars, I would. Terribly managed company, constant shifting strategy and a negative, depressing atmosphere. Senior management is unprofessional, defensive and punitive. How they ever received funding is beyond me. You will notice in the reviews that everyone mentions lack of transparency, which really translates into constant lying by senior management. They like to claim that they run the company...

I worked at Tidemark full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

I am so thankful to have met and worked with this many gifted and brilliant people – who with every bug-ridden release - exhibited herculean efforts to keep the plane flying.

    Cons

C-Level Management: Soviet-style, top down and in your face. – Intimidating, bullying, offensive. A feature factory with no material future. If you are still there – get the heck out ASAP.

    Advice to Management

Go back to work for SAP - or better yet, retire and fade away.

I worked at Tidemark full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Innovation, Able to work remotely as often as needed, great teammates, an awesome corporate culture in the heart of Silicon Valley

    Cons

Unrealistic management & managers, no work life balance one your are put on a project. Salary may seem high but breaking it down to the number of hours spent working just doesn't seem fair

    Advice to Management

Unless you change you will continue to loose amazing talent

I worked at Tidemark full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Some of the people still there are very talented. The product is unique to competition.

    Cons

Very poor management. Some should never be managing people. Customer success not appreciated/understood. Culture of CYA and blame game.

    Advice to Management

Clean house at top, not bottom! Listen to your employees. They might be smarter than you.

      I worked at Tidemark

      Pros

Customer Success, Support, Operations and Development's commitment to current customers. They will perform 'unnatural' acts to help customers through product challenges. This product has many functional 'gaps' but also has functionality that makes it unique in the CPM space.

      Cons

Lack of practical vision, deceptive and misleading executives. A product cannot introduce continuous improvement/functionality without a resilient and stable platform - specifically as you add customers and users in a multi-tenant SaaS platform. Management will veil platform and product deficiencies from customers, and prospects. Over the last two years there were two large employee down-sizing events as well as critical...

      Advice to Management

As important as vision is, it is enabled and realized with participation and cooperation of both your employees and customers. Without an honest and transparent commitment to them, you will never succeed - you are not smarter than either. Ego's fail more companies than vision.

I worked at Tidemark for more than 2 years

      Pros

Good application to work with. They are on the cutting edge.

      Cons

Misleading culture. Although there are plenty of good people, the company does not care about its employees. Executive management operates in an almost shady way.

      Advice to Management

Treat your employees with more respect.
