I worked at Tiffany & Co. full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Exposure to high end merchandise, upscale environment, customer base. Learn how to juggle stress & competitive sales staff situations.

    Cons

Busy to boring work demands, seasonal sales periods. Ill=equipped managers. Poor directions on goals. MEAN disruptive staff creates unresolved/ignored issues. Very very low, below poverty wages!!! Does provide strong resume for future retail employement.

    Advice to Management

Better trained managers, resolve all the inbred disruptive tension. State goals clearly. Improve salaries..product discounts arent food on table, rent paid...you are a top notch retailer and need to treat your employees more fairly!!! Too autocratic.

I worked at Tiffany & Co. full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A company with a rich heritage and historical brand recognition. High quality product assortment. Generous employee discount program. Opportunities for promotion at store level.

    Cons

Outdated IT and CRM systems. Instability and tension due to new leadership. Lack of quality oversight and disconnect between corporate and field teams. Imbalance between sales and support personnel ratio. Minimal back of house space in new stores. Poorly executed product promotions.

    Advice to Management

Invest in infrastructure and increasing personnel in support departments. Align upper management actual behaviors with company philosophy and values. Increase visibility into field and day to day operations.

I have been working at Tiffany & Co. full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Great benefits and company discount

    Cons

Horrible compensation compared to market. Only Directors and above get paid fairly. Inconsistencies between stores policies and procedures. Company constantly making changes to employee policies (for example, days/shifts hired to work, black-out vacation time, etc.), Extreme favoritism shown to staff members versus others.

    Advice to Management

Ensure HR gives a voice to the employees with more frequent opportunities to voice their concerns through anonymous emails/surveys.

I worked at Tiffany & Co. full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good discount and benefits. Love the culture and the atmosphere. Was able to develop personally and professionally.

    Cons

Understandably sales driven, often those behind the scenes did not get the respect deserved.

    Advice to Management

I hear from current employees that things have changed dramatically. The company I worked for seems no longer to be. Be mindful of the culture and respect the heritage.

I worked at Tiffany & Co. full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Working for a great brand.

    Cons

HR PLEASE READ THIS. The upper management in Parsippany SUCKS. They need to stop treating people like dog crap. They need to be trained to respect the people that are forced to report to them. The management forgets their only job isn't to wait to pick up their bosses phone calls, and start taking an active role in coaching their subordinates. Departments that are forced to work in the same area e.g.... Distribution, Hollowware, QA, Repair services should not have to feel as if they are second best to the "owners" of that area. Distribution thinks they are the only people who work for the company and have a very limited mindset in many cases due to the nature of their work. They don't take the time to learn what others do and respect them for what they do, they only see themselves. They all act this way, and they know it and are obvious about it. The company culture is stale at best and not competitive in terms of a positive workplace that promotes growth in any way, or even thinking for that matter - no thinking is the Tiffany way. Flex time should be implemented, in fact every other company located in the same campus offers it to help accommodate the horrible traffic and other issues that we all face in NJ. Men and women in the workplace at Tiffany is out of balance (just look at the online statistics) take a close look at all areas, the women in management will go out of their way not to hire a man... you are going to face a discrimination suit if you don't take a close look at this.

I have been working at Tiffany & Co. full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Strong brand which permeates the company culture. Company continues to grow in tough times. Strong senior management team with vision of the brand. Professional environment. Pinnacle of the industry. Company conducts regular employee surveys to better understand where improvements need ot be made, especially in regards to culture and values. Great benefits. Great people. People tend to be very loyal so there... is a lot of longevity with the company.

    Cons

Strong brand leads at times to thinking of there is a "Tiffany" way, sometimes causing resistance to change, but that is slowly changing for the positive. Technology has a low value. Can be slow in terminating truly poor performers. Advancement is available but tough because of the longevity of people.

    Advice to Management

Make the technology investments today to ensure competitiveness tomorrow.
