I worked at Tiffany & Co.

    Pros

Great benefits; impeccable corporate responsibility. Global organization. The best quality of diamonds. Amazing design. High developmental and growth potential. Rich history.

    Cons

Pay can always be more competitive. Some managers are in the wrong position: lazy, nasty, and just unkind. Most are NOT leaders; just micro-manage tasks. They are not inspirational or motivational. Too much favoritism.

    Advice to Management

Employee engagement is the key to growth and success. Too many positions that don't generate sales and income. Too many support positions. Wasted square footage in retail sales that doesn't produce.

I worked at Tiffany & Co. for less than a year

    Pros

Stores, product and company are amazing. Health benefits are fantastic! Senior management is very professional. I truly enjoyed my interactions with them. Most of the sales team on the floor were great. Exceptional team members are rewarded with opportunities. If you do well, you can move easily from store to store to move up within the company.

    Cons

Hourly pay is better than most retailers, but in expensive cities, it is still not enough. You are expected to toe the company line and not be too honest. The store I worked at was always understaffed due to folks being on medical leave or someone calling in sick almost daily. It created a bit of a hectic environment. It is a small store. Initially, schedules were made for a week at a time--making it very difficult...

    Advice to Management

Stick to the Tiffany processes whenever possible (they are there for a reason). Treat all of your staff with respect. Stop the silly games and treat everyone equally. Leave your personal dramas at home and quit hiding in your offices. The staff would like to see you supporting them from time to time.

I have been working at Tiffany & Co. full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great benefits, 401k, medical and eye insurance. About the only pros going for this company. Employee perks are good as well.

    Cons

Nowhere to move up whwn working in this store. Internals are never given a chance, always hire from outside the company

    Advice to Management

Should think about making changes in this group. Restructuring and a fresh start would be best. Change initiatives should be the major concern. Try not discriminating against MEN and giving them a fair opportunity to interview and possible gain a position, especially in the operations department
