    I worked at Tighe & Bond full-time

    Pros

Great Company Culture, everyone was so friendly and took time to mentor younger staff. Great compensation for short term and long term. Connection and inter office communication is fantastic.

    Cons

Takes time to get situated and oriented with work. Advancement isn't always 100% transparent, feedback on progress isn't always given.

    Advice to Management

Keep on being friendly and encouraging. Provide better feedback on how to advance to a higher position more frequently and track progress with staff

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Tighe & Bond full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits for health, eye, vision, dental, 401k, ESOP, PTO, and flexible work schedule.

    Cons

Company is structured to be top heavy, too many upper management for anyone to be able to move up at a progressive rate.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Tighe & Bond full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The group of people and projects you work with/on are pretty diverse. Not too much else to say.

    Cons

Terrible Management. Tighe & Bond touts tier core values, but all members of management refuse to follow them. Unless you are a waste water engineer you are a second/third class citizen. If your looking for a position at Tighe & Bond, unless you are a waste water engineer keep looking. Need to be wary of management since they shift blame onto everyone else besides themselves.

    Advice to Management

Needs a MAJOR shakeup. Each division in the company should have at least one member on the board. You cant have the entire company board, including the president be comprised of waste water engineers, especially when it accounts for only about 1/4 of your revenue.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Tighe & Bond full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The retirement benefits are pretty good; however they appear to be trending downward. Fun group of employees to work with. All in all it is not a terrible place to work but there are certainly better. Retirement benefits, vacation, sick time and holidays used to be very, very good...no longer.

    Cons

Its a company of engineers, environmental scientists, wetland scientists, regulatory compliance specialists...but make no mistake it is run by engineers. Everything needs to fit neatly into a box (metaphor) and there is extreme resistance to doing things differently. If you're a Professional Engineer you can do OK. If you work in any of the other disciplines, you'd be better off finding somewhere else.

You're professional advancement is based on who you have in senior management advocating for you.

They provide you an annual compensation statement showing you your base salary, the additional pay for extra hours worked, 401k contribution, bonuses and profit sharing. They also include their portion of your health insurance within your statement to try and make the "bottom line" compensation look higher than what it is. What does that tell you?

    Advice to Management

Stop sacrificing employee benefits to improve the bottom line. Pay attention to who the performers actually are...not just those that take credit for it. Stop ignoring problems in the hopes that they will go away. They won't.

I worked at Tighe & Bond full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent benefits, flexible work arrangements, opportunity to work on a variety of projects, people I worked with good mentors

    Cons

lack of training, rarely given the benefit of the doubt is something went wrong

    Advice to Management

Lead by example. Everyone always stressed the importance of communication to me - yet, management set a poor example of good communication.

Company Cars for VPs, Quick advancement for waste water engineers, they take good care of senior management positions

    Cons

Non-waste water engineers are treated like second class citizens

    Advice to Management

    Treat all employees equal

I worked at Tighe & Bond full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Coworkers are great to work with
    Great benefits

    Cons

You have to be an engineer to really get ahead. Other departments don't get the same opportunities.
Senior management appears to be a little "out of touch"

    Advice to Management

Treat all groups in the company the same. The environmental scientists are just as important as the engineers.
