I worked at Tim Hortons (More than a year)

    Pros

Certain franchise locations will allow you to enjoy the coffee and food for free or at a discounted price. Flexible hours sometimes, if you aren't working at an understaffed location.

    Cons

Working at a gas station location only pays for a single employee to work at night and the work load given to that one person is ridiculous. Donuts, bagels, breakfast foods have to be prepared before 4 am, while still catering to customers. The location doesn't take into consideration the customer traffic for people at night.

    Advice to Management

DO SOMETHING. Tim Hortons needs more staff working at night and doing the day. You can't expect your employees to work for 6 hours straight at racing pit stop speeds. That's insane.

I worked at Tim Hortons part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Hours were convenient and a great for students who work.

    Cons

Management has no clue what they are doing and some workers are treated unfairly. Also severely under staffed.

    Advice to Management

Make sure your supervisors know how to do their job and hire a proper amount of employees.

    Pros

Easy work, great product, early closing times so no super late hours, fun type of food work, decent pay.

    Cons

Training is poor, long hours, some stores are uber bad.

    Advice to Management

Get a new training team, be tougher with all employees, slow down on development.

I worked at Tim Hortons full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Everybody got free drinks, but only shift leads and management got free food. Other staff got 50% off food.

    Cons

Hours went from being very flexible to none at all. Corporate only cares about speed of service.

    Advice to Management

Listen to what the employees are saying they need. Grow a pair and take it to corporate for your store.

I have been working at Tim Hortons full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Cow workers are great but that is where it ends.

    Cons

Management is cheap and we are understaffed a lot. The pay is awful I work 6 days a week and don't make more than 350 dollars a week. Overall bad experience. No advancement.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people and stop being so cheap.

I worked at Tim Hortons part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Free coffee
    - Free donuts and timbits
    - Free soft drinks
    - Lots of hours
    - Usually always busy (not boring)
    - Set expectations and roles for the shift
    you are working

    Cons

    - Poorly ran
    - Extremely rude, sexist, and demanding owner and manager
    - Scheduled me illegally over hours (as a minor)
    - Mostly grumpy old people as customers, so you get snapped at a lot
    - Owner did not allow us to follow company protocol so he could save money (not baking new donuts, not using new rags, etc)

I have been working at Tim Hortons part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It fun working in a quick service restaurant that has plates and silverware. It's not like working in McDonald's, it's way better!

    Cons

I don't believe there are very many cons for this job. But having to deal with rude customers, but that's any where you work.

    Advice to Management

Stop going through so many GMs find someone that will work instead of guessing if they're good enough.

I worked at Tim Hortons full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You stay busy so time flies, good staff helps get things done. The customers make the job worth it!

    Cons

If your crew is lazy, you do your work plus theirs. Breaks are not as often as needed. You stop moving and you're questioned. Bad management can lead to a bad work experience. No room to move up. No sick time, no PTO.

    Advice to Management

Treat the employees better, more praise leads to more attempts and harder work.
