    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Timba Software full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Over 5 years of experience working with Salesforce
    - Constantly growing internally and expanding externally to interface with clients of all kinds
    - Willing to work through communication issues to facilitate an easy-going, open envirornment
    - Eager to explore various technologies and expand into other cloud solutions
    - Fantastic mix of developers and talents
    - A blend of Uruguay, San Francisco, and New York
    - Travel, culture, diversity, and experience
    - Forging initiatives into a "foundations" space to connect with non-profit organizations

    Cons

    - Rapidly growing and adjusting to new faces and skillsets; so there are some growing pains--it's an established company that has a start-up-like atmosphere in San Francisco and New York
    - Expanding, but the core of its services reside in Salesforce

    Advice to Management

No advice. Keep hiring rockstars and keep the communication open! It's difficult to adapt to everyone's needs.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Timba Software full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Assembled a great team in NYC and SF with the idea of offshored model to South America. The unfortunate reality was that a bunch of star players brought together without a plan by management leads to uncontrolled staff churn and diminishing reputation of the firm to no longer attract good staff.

    Cons

Clueless leadership leveraging South American talent that has no experience let alone training.
    Estimation process was a joke.
Attempts for improvement or even establishing process were met with termination from founders
Relationships with clients for prolonged business engagement is an after thought
Bullying tactics used by short temper and even shorter attention span of US head of operations lead to very low morale in all offices

    Advice to Management

    Go back on your medication

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Timba Software full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great developer and architect talent in Uruguay. The team there is very knowledgeable in Salesforce.com technologies and has a proved track record. Language is rarely an issue and their client commitment it outstanding

    Cons

Founders refused to relinquish any control of business and must be involved with every decision. Built business through referrals and have not changed to grow business. Although a start-up, risk taking is limited. Would rather bill a client than work to grow business.

Culture lacking due to tight leash employees are held. Telecommute is NOT an option here. Work-life balance questionable.

    Advice to Management

With Synova management taking a firmer hold, perhaps better decision-making will result. The founders are technical experts and have great skill in that area. As for running a business and fostering culture, it isn't in their nature.

Unless changes happen, firm will never reach potential the development talent provides.

    Pros

great location inside the Salesforce building
has been a partner of Salesforce
there are a few great people, developers inside the company

    Cons

Executive management does not know how to set expectations for employees and are not familiar with the process and resources needed to take a company to the next level. Poor leadership skills ends up compromising employee performance.
