I worked at Time Warner Cable full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A great opportunity to learn about the technology of the cable industry. There are various outside plant and inside plant projects within the Hub Operations, Sales, Commercial and Field Operations that will give opportunity to learn about their network and telecommunications. Ratings below are of TWC, I cannot speak for Charter.

    Cons

The acquisition of Charter taking over of Time Warner Cable has been a very poor experience. I have been through several mergers and acquisitions and have never witnessed such a poor transition from the employees perspective. They offered jobs to the public before working to assist current employees for job placement.

    Advice to Management

They should have hired consultants to handle the changeover. Work with existing employees for job placement before offering very little time to make major changes.

I worked at Time Warner Cable full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits ..Great opportunities for advancement

    Cons

Management is unrealistic and unsupported. You must stay 'on top of' your game and pay attention to your 'numbers' because the Supervisors manipulate the numbers for there own benefit.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. They are on the front line. Don't set unrealistic goals. Employees would be more productive and perform better if they feel valued. Show some recognition!

I worked at Time Warner Cable full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very Casual and friendly environment, Engineering management very courteous and helpful in working together with technicians and operators. They were always there if you needed help in resolving issues. You have to remember this was 2015, and it may be different now because of Spectrum (Charter Communications). One great thing that they provided was paid training to learn or freshen up on your working skills per department.

    Cons

They phased out their Christmas parties a long time ago, what a shame and what a blow to our moral. We all worked hard and could have looked forward to the celebration, networking and socializing with co-workers and other employees across the Time Warner footprint.

    Advice to Management

I'm sure its different now comparing to 2015 , since Spectrum took over recently so I'll refrain from giving any advise.

I worked at Time Warner Cable as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great leadership, Great pay, Smart colleagues

    Cons

After Charter Communications take over the company has conducted a huge downsize in both their permanent staff and temporary contractors. They're also making their permanent staff who have been executing their jobs for many years apply for their own jobs. They've gotten rid of the pension plans and the benefits that are being offered are less than attractive...This company was once a great one to work at and now it's very much questionable.

    Advice to Management

The way to keep highly skilled employees is by paying them a fair salary that meets to the average job market offer. The elimination of the great benefits TWC once offered their employees is a terrible way to introduce yourself to the employees. Your change management strategy will fail as the loyal employees at TWC will begin to resign and you will be forced to hire mediocre employees

I worked at Time Warner Cable (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free cable was a good bonus.

    Cons

Timed while on calls was good.

    Advice to Management

Be honest during training that if Call Center Rep. does not meet sales quotas for three months they will be fired.

I worked at Time Warner Cable full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The benefits were excellent, there was a lot of opportunity for growth and advancement and there's opportunity to work different shifts depending on your position. You also have the opportunity of getting a raise every year.

    Cons

The starting pay for certain positions could be better. If you're in a leadership role, your time off is dependent on whether or not you have enough coverage in your absence.
