I worked at Time Warner Cable (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The company culture was great. I have never worked somewhere so inclusive. You were recognized for great work and everyone worked together as a team.

    Cons

The culture/respect/flexibility varied from department to department and depending on who your boss was.

    Pros

Deep discounts or free cable services to all employees. Good team building synergy and regular meetings to keep all employees current with new promotions and offers.

    Cons

The biggest problem I had working for this company was how they filtered every single call thru the sales department. Customer service questions, repairs, service outrages and then they monitored those same calls and expected to to sell to a customer who was experiencing an outage.

    Advice to Management

My advise to management would be to try and build relationships with your customers first and foremost. Address the issue completely (until issue is repaired or resolved and then follow up to see if additional services would be a benefit), ask for permission to follow up. Follow up. Step customer off promotions gradually over time instead if all at once. Continued revenue is better that losing it all to the competition.
