I worked at Time Warner as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great People to work with. Well defined work goals and processes. Allowed remote work from home in special circumstances such as mine.

    Cons

Unknowns about Charter buyout. were happening and confusing - not so much as a contractor, but for the middle management that I dealt with.

    Advice to Management

Stick to the basics and put the customer first in all visions of the future. Keep providing the best tools for the employees such as video conferencing, etc.

I worked at Time Warner (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Since I was in corporate, there were differences there than the divisions which were a bit more "casual" but yet professional all the way (mostly)... the tension between corporate and the divisions was sometimes palpable. Overall a terrific company and organization.

    Cons

    - very buttoned up for a media company (almost GE like) - no harm, but an overly cautious and close to the vest culture. Could be considered (and is the word "on the street") they TW is quite conservative relative to other media companies. But when they lock into a hit, it's a HIT!

    Advice to Management

Loosen it up a bit! We make media!

I worked at Time Warner full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent professional experience for the time I was involved in the business.

    Cons

Slow to see around the corner and to make the hard moves to change.

    Advice to Management

Create an environment that supports fast failures and innovation. Media has to move at the speed of consumers and that's now accelerated to real time.
