I worked at Time Warner (More than 3 years)

    Pros

New technologies. Senior engineers. Up-to-date hardware and software -- bleeding edge. Pending move to Hudson Yards will be refreshing, if grueling.

    Cons

TW IT invaded by IT management tree from another company. Project Management Office dissolved and outsourced project managers brought in. Too many outside advisors, reviewers and consulting companies involved. Shortage of in-house engineers leads to poor and late deliveries and need for outside assistance. Moving so much to the cloud replaces smoothly running systems with difficult-to-maintain hosted solutions. Consolidation (mergers) of four subsidiary companies simultaneously is harebrained idea. Maintenance on existing systems suffering in favor of new and replacement systems.

    Advice to Management

The culture of the company has changed. Same with its subsidiaries. Take a look around... your people are unhappy.
