I have been working at Time Warner full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

-Free Screenings and events (when you are selected and movies are already released in theaters)
    -Diverse workplace
    -401k Match
    -Great Location for commuting in
-Building has nice views and is fairly modern

    Cons

-Company does not invest in its employees - no continual training for job related skills
-Expects you to work long hours when management leaves after 8. Not willing to stay when needed.
-Never back-fill for positions that employees left- your stick with doing more and no raise.
-The budget to run the department is not in line with the needs
-Approval for new hardware is almost impossible-to much red tape
-Management is not open to suggestions by employees/if they do use it they brand it as their own and don't give you credit.
    -No room for growth.
-Management is old and not efficient for the current fast paced/high demand media landscape
-Company perks are being taking away like sick time and amount of hours before overtime

    Advice to Management

Have a way to have a 360 review of managers. Stop treating your employees as if they don't know the business needs and what the users want. Should use us as a resource since we are the "boots on the ground"

    Pros

Good area in the city, lots to do after work. I guess what was nice about it was how they kept good track of overtime working hours.

    Cons

I would say the difficult thing about this company is that it is getting sort of out-of-trendy. It would be nice to see more innovation so if you are looking for an innovative company, this one is not for you.

    Pros

    Fair compensation. Great work hours.

    Cons

Retirement plans have gotten stingy. Recently had to layoff 20% of employee base, to avoid takeover. So not too stable, anymore. Very hard to move up, veterans never leave and when they do, positions are done away with.

    Advice to Management

Took too long to figure out multi device digital distribution, Content is not innovative, still resting on the laurels from hits of 20 years ago.

I worked at Time Warner full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent professional experience for the time I was involved in the business.

    Cons

Slow to see around the corner and to make the hard moves to change.

    Advice to Management

Create an environment that supports fast failures and innovation. Media has to move at the speed of consumers and that's now accelerated to real time.
