    Advice to Management

Pay raises should be given per employees performance.

I worked at Times Supermarket full-time

    Pros

You get to know a few of your customers that come in.

    Cons

If you haven't worked in a supermarket setting before, this company isn't a place for you. Management expects you to know where every item is in 2 weeks upon being hired. For some positions in that they have an opening for, they don't tell you exactly what the job description is. Meaning you either sink or swim.

I have been working at Times Supermarket part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I've been working for the company for more than 2 years, I started as a General Clerk and currently working on a different department.
Benefits are good, pay is a okay when you start (depends on your experience).
What I like most is they do acknowledge your hard work no matter if you're newly hired or long-time employee, it will depend on your performance.
Learnt a lot too, I tried helping in different departments and they give you more experience and help you decide in what department you will land to.
Management cares for their employees, but you have to speak and man up so they will hear you and they do take action.

    Cons

If you don't let them know what's wrong then nothing will happen.

    Advice to Management

Front-end: As I see company hire new people and they work with less ethics, no common sense and some with no passion at all.
Back, i.e. Seafood: I totally experienced how the system works. But to new people who works here will get bad rates.
Why is this happening? It starts with the management. They need to put time and attention to train people more on basic things in everything. They need to be stern but in a manner that you will not loose your job. They need to be the role model and be the first to show compassion at job.

    Pros

They have the best produce and the best cashiers. Very friendly and always send you on your way with a happy smile

    Cons

Sometimes run out of products too quickly. Should consider having a 24 hour times at the busy areas like, Kahala, Waimalu, Aiea, Kunia. One should be opened in Kapolei.

I worked at Times Supermarket (More than a year)

    Pros

It was a great company who hired pretty much anyone. If you work hard, there are advancement opportunities. I have to say it wasn't so bad

    Cons

The pay is crappy and it usually only goes up $.50 every 1000 hours u work. Customers are really grouchy sometimes

    Advice to Management

    Great management

    Pros

Very friendly and family oriented people. Awesome management. Administration is really nice too!
Great Benefits, my rate of pay was $9.50 and i was P/T status, 1 year after i was promoted Full-Time, and 6 months later, i was promoted to Relief Manager. Times Supermarket has instilled growth in me and im so thankful!

    Cons

Lines in the front can get kind of long during peak time due to minimal staffing. Some Courtesy Clerks dont know job duties, Cashiers used to be fast and efficient, lately, cashiers have been slow paced. When im managing the front end, i try to alleviate the long lines, im just looking at it as a work in progress.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you doing!!! Thank you for the opportunity!!!
