I have been working at Timken full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Programming and building new machines is the best thing. The work is varied and at your own pace. Many projects are available.

    Cons

Apathetic supervision. The manager is either being lied to about team members behaviors and performance or complicit. Four workers with tenure run the shop and work actively to run new employees out. High turnover. The shop is poorly organized. Priorities change minute to minute. Lack of new employee onboarding program and no on the job training.

    Advice to Management

In a year at Timken RBS, six employees have been hired and left the maintenance team. Find the common denominator. Monitor your leadership team and senior employees.

    Pros

I researched Timken Company prior to applying for any position. I love the company and the job I was performing. I have an Associates degree in engineering science and in my senior year as an engineering management major along with several years in aircraft and small engine repair. This was a perfect company to fit my skills and offer opportunity for challenges and growth.

    Cons

    Training
    Safety
    Ethics

These are the biggest red flags I saw as new employee:

No Safety Data Sheets in the audit lab, chemicals not properly stowed in flam lockers, low productivity in the audit lab is the standard
Being trained from a ex convict that had no record of being trained for the job he is performing
There was ferrocote being used to clean grease of employees hands and nothing being said about it in regards to their safety
Supervisors surfing the web on ebay, craigslist, and youtube and not performing their work or keeping compliance
Deceptive behavior and trickery among employees
    Retaliation when bringing up issues
Lots of hearsay and no validation or verfication
Romantic relationships in the workplace where there was kissing, tickling, and arguments making it uncomfortable to come to work.

    Advice to Management

You have a select corrupt team of people that are willing to sacrifice the Timken core values. These issues will repeat themselves until they are corrected. Ultimately it will jeopardize the Mascot facility if allowed to continue.
